Sustaining Circle of Love

Sustaining Circle of LoveHand to Hold’s Sustaining Circle of Love was established to recognize dedicated annual donors who are passionate about advancing the mission of Hand to Hold.  The goal of the Sustaining Circle is to raise $100,000 annually to underwrite Hand to Hold’s award winning Helping Hand peer mentor program and online education series as well as innovative new programs each year. In 2016, funding will support vital program development such as Hand to Hold’s new audio support series (podcast).

The  emotional, physical, financial and psychological impact of caring for a medically fragile child can blind-side families. Research shows that a traumatic birth experience and/or loss can leave new parents at risk for developing serious mental health diagnoses like depression or PTSD, which impacts their ability to bond with their baby, increasing the risk that the baby will not receive appropriate follow-up care and and can result in divorce and child abuse.  It is vital that parents receive support and education to help reduce the impact of a NICU stay on families and ensure better outcomes for babies.
