Hand to Hold welcomes donations from our online gift registry (our wish list) to help us in our mission to support families who have had a premature child, who have had a baby born with special health care needs or who have experienced a loss. These suggested giving levels share what we can do with large and small gifts. Gifts may also be made in honor of a friend, loved one or precious child. They all make a difference and will be thoughtfully put to work on behalf of NICU and bereaved families across the country! If you have questions, contact Kelli Kelley.

$25 – Connects a NICU family to critical support.  Hand to Hold’s toll-free hotline (U.S.) is used to connect NICU, preemie and bereaved families to Hand to Hold Family Support Navigators (Social Workers with Personal NICU Experience) who answer questions, address concerns, navigate healthcare options and match families with a peer mentor for emotional support.

$50 – Trains one NICU parent to help many others. Hand to Hold carefully matches seasoned NICU graduate parents (Helping Hands) with new parents in need of support.  These peer-to-peer relationships inspire hope and offer the chance to ask personal questions and receive support from someone who is uniquely familiar with the experience of high-risk pregnancy, preterm birth, life in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, a child or multiples born with a special health care need, loss of pregnancy and/or infant loss.

$100 – Provides 25 children resources to help cope with their sibling’s NICU stay. A NICU stay affects the whole family.  Like parents, siblings need support, encouragement and information to navigate through the NICU journey.  Hand to Hold’s specially designed Sibling Activity Coloring Books and Video Tour of the NICU helps educate siblings about the NICU, eases their fears associated with their sibling’s NICU stay and prepares them for their important role as a big brother or sister.

$250 – Enables families to access continuing education about caring for their medically fragile child.  More than 3,000 families each month attend Hand to Hold’s Monthly Online Education Forums which provide caregivers valuable information about important topics such as feeding & nutrition for the NICU graduate, preventing infections and re-hospitalization, integrating speech and occupational therapy into everyday life, navigating the complicated systems of care and more.

$500 – Delivers weekly information, inspiration and hope through Hand to Hold’s Life After NICU Online Parent Support Forum. Parents come together to share their celebrations, ask questions and receive education to help them care for their child and themselves no matter where they are in their NICU journey.

$1,000 – Prepares 250 parents for their baby’s NICU graduation.  Hand to Hold’s NICU Graduate Handbook is a post-discharge guide for the NICU graduate’s first year.  This important resource educates parents about their baby’s unique developmental and health care needs, giving them the tools and information they need to partner with their therapists and health care providers to ensure best outcomes for their baby.

$2,500 – Production of educational video on topic of importance for NICU families. To better educate and share helpful information with NICU parents as well as professionals, Hand to Hold produces engaging videos on topics such as  breastfeeding, nutrition, emotional health and the benefits of peer support.  Videos are available in English and Spanish.

$5,000  –  Supports six months of Preemiebabies101, Hand to Hold’s parent blog followed by more than 30,000 parents and professionals each month.  This supportive online community connects parents who share similar experiences, arms them with information to properly care for their child(ren) and family, and find inspiration and hope when needed most.
