My fallopian tube ruptured due to undetected third trimester ectopic pregnancy. I bled out and both myself and my baby are lucky to have survived.
Why should your child be recognized as “Preemie of the Year”?
My child should be recognized as he is a true fighter. I had a third trimester ectopic pregnancy (nearly impossible to have happen) which ruptured my fallopian tube. I bleed out and my little fighter crashed before my emergency c-section began. He was born 10 weeks early and I have watched him struggle and fight for nearly a month. In the begining days of his live he struggled to breathe. It was so hard to watch him struggle and fight for each breath. He has spent all his time in the NICU and still has several weeks to go. I watch him hit mile stones each day. He is a miracle and I am so amazed at his progress and struggle to get to where he is today.
Using three or more typical characteristics of a Super Hero, please describe your child.
Mason is truly my little miracle man. Amazingly his initials are actually M.M. He has been a fighter from the moment he entered this world. He is so strong having to struggle to do things he shouldn’t have to do. He should still be inside mom growing. He was born September 26, 2010 and his due date was December 2, 2010. He has conquered the odds and is amazingly strong. He is a true-life super hero, having to rise up from the odds to survive. He is a true survivor and he makes everyone who comes into contact with him proud and happy to see him push on. He will forever be my miracle man!!
What advice do you have for future NICU parents?
Take it one day at a time. Do not rush your child’s progress, just be proud of them and their progress each day.
