When we decided to have Jayden evaluated by Early Intervention (EI) for a speech delay, we didn’t really know what to expect. He was 23 months old at the time, and then to hear he was at the 12-15 month level was like a punch to the gut. The good thing is he qualified for the services that EI had to offer.
Jayden was assigned to three therapists…speech, developmental and occupational. Speech came twice a week and the others came once a week. After a few weeks, he started to get in the routine of each of them coming to our home. He would wait at the front door for them to arrive and jump up and down with excitement when he saw them. He would then help carry their bags into the living room because he knew they were full of toys. They each had so much patience with him and knew just how to interact with him to get the most out of each session.
Joel and I were so proud of the progress Jayden made over the 12 months he was enrolled in EI. We loved his therapists just as much as Jayden loved them. If it were not for the 3 of them, I don’t believe we would be as far as we are today with his progress. When Jayden turned 3 and had to transition to the school system, it was bittersweet. We were excited for the next step in Jayden’s progress, but we were definitely sad to see his therapists move on to other children.
They helped Jayden improve his speech, attention span, etc and for that we are forever grateful. No gift could ever say “thank you” enough for all that they did for Jayden.
After scouring Pinterest for some ideas, I stumbled upon this sweet idea at Two Silly Monkeys. I decided to fill clear paint cans from Michael’s after seeing a similar concept at Seasons of Joy.
I decided I wanted to let these wonderful therapists know just how “Magnificent” & “Marvelous” we thought they were!
Here’s how my M&M Therapist Thank You Gifts turned out:
There are 2 prints in an 8.5″x11″ PDF format (one 5 x 7 image per sheet). Simply print each one, then tape or glue together on a piece of card stock.
Then, just fill a container with M&Ms, embellish/decorate it anyway you want, and attach the card. We suggest mounting the front and back to a piece of cardstock.
Voila! An easy and sweet gift for those wonderful therapists who have helped your little miracle grow and develop so much. 🙂
