My 4 year old wearing a size 4 before washing

My kids all love new clothes but can sometimes be picky with what they want to wear. When asked to write this review for Little & Mighty, I thought about which of my children would be a little picky, to see their thoughts on the design and fit. I went with my 4-year-old son. Before I get to my review, let me share a little about the company and their products.

Little and Mighty was started by three moms who live in and around Austin, TX. They wanted to start a child’s clothing line to fill a void they saw in all other clothing lines. When asked why they started the company, this answer stood out: “We want people to celebrate childhood with us. We want them to go adventuring, be faced with a challenge to overcome and discover new things about themselves along the way. We want to get back to pure and simple childhood. It’s so magical. We want to fill those kiddos with wonder and allow them to question the world around them.”

We want to get back to pure and simple childhood. It’s so magical.

Their designs are printing with eco-friendly, water-based inks.  This allows the shirts to be more breathable. They are all printed by hand locally and are also made in the USA. Kids love the designs which spark imagination and adventure. The shirts stretch and move while the kids are running, jumping, climbing and playing.

Initial thought: When the package arrived, my 4-year-old couldn’t wait to try on his new shirt. The design was printed beautifully. It was bright and clear. We received one of their original design long-sleeved shirts. When I first looked at it, I thought it looked a little small; however, we loved the feel of the shirt. It has a good stretch to it, but regains it’s original size and shape. I could tell from the feel of the fabric (100% cotton)that it was quality fabric that would withstand many washings.

Size/fit: We revived a size 4. My son is 4-years-old, 41 ½ inches tall, and 35 lbs. Like I said, I thought it looked small at first. Once I put it on him though, it was a perfect fit! I noticed it did shrink I little bit, so if you are unsure what size to order, go with the bigger size. Thankfully this shirt still fits great! It is a snugger-fitting shirt that really does move well with my active 4-year-old. I asked him how it feels, and he said it feels great!

Design: We received the original design. It’s simple, but cute. Little and mighty are words that definitely describe our 4-year-old. While not a preemie, he’s struggled with many of the same things many preemies do. He has always been smaller than average, but is very strong and mighty

Little & Mighty’s other designs are also just as simple but creative. They use a water-based ink that is eco-friendly, something I love for my sensitive skin boy. The fewer chemicals that touch his skin the better. You will notice a slight fade in the print after the first wash. They explain this on their website. I noticed it a little, but the design still looks just as great. After the second wash, I didn’t notice any more fading.

Wear: My son has worn the shirt a few times. He loves it and never wants to take it off. It’s been through the wash a few times now and it holding up quite well. I see no signs of wear in the fabric and the design is holding up really well. I really believe these are clothes that will last through many washings and wears. My kids are rough on clothes and so far this is holding up to all their tricks.

Overall I think these products are fantastic! They live up to everything the website says. I love them and my kids love them and it really doesn’t get any better than that! As I sit here writing this, my son is currently wearing his Little and Mighty shirt and said “Thank you for my shirt mommy.” I love to support small businesses with quality products that are made in the USA.  I will definitely be ordering more from them.
