AUSTIN, TX– Hand to Hold, a national nonprofit that provides early intervention mental health support for Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) parents before, during and after the NICU, has named Katrina Moline as executive director. As a NICU parent and key member of the Hand to Hold team for more than five years, Moline is passionate about serving NICU families and is committed to continued ambitious nationwide growth.
“Katrina’s work ethic, passion for our mission, and dedication to our staff and the families we serve is unwavering. Her personal NICU story drives her and centers her. I can think of no other leader I would trust more than Katrina to help lead and guide Hand to Hold into the future,” said Kelli Kelley, founder and CEO of Hand to Hold.
Moline most recently served as Hand to Hold’s chief operations and finance officer. She joined Hand to Hold in 2018 with two decades of experience managing small business operations and leading teams in the corporate sector. She has also served as a volunteer in Hand to Hold’s peer mentor program for more than ten years, mentoring other mothers through their own traumatic NICU experiences.
“It’s an incredible privilege to be given the opportunity to lead an organization that has impacted me on such a profound, personal level,” said Moline. “When my son Bryce was born four months early, weighing just a pound and a half, his 150-day NICU stay and resulting complex medical diagnoses changed our world forever. I am committed to the continued success and growth of Hand to Hold, with a goal that no family will have to experience the NICU alone.”
Moline will assume the position effective January 30, 2024. She will lead the organization alongside Kelli Kelley, founder and CEO of Hand to Hold, through the end of 2025. Kelley, who has successfully led and grown the nonprofit for the past 13 years, plans to retire at that time as part of a deliberate succession process.
“The most successful nonprofits have strong and strategic succession plans,” said Cory Ritthaler, Hand to Hold Board Chair. “The Board is proud to support Katrina’s promotion and this dual leadership structure as it is key in establishing a strong foundation for the continued growth and success of the organization.”
Moline will be hosting a virtual coffee chat, alongside Kelley, on Wednesday, February 28, 2024, to share her vision for Hand to Hold. Register here.
Moline is a passionate, natural leader with an affinity for numbers and mind for growth. She lives in Austin, Texas with her husband Caleb, two sons, Bryce and Gage, and their menagerie of pets.
